To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health (see Medical Questions before making the booking). No prior experience with scuba diving is required.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
Theory: Studying a book during the course or online before your holiday
Confined Water: To learn basic scuba skills in shallow water
Open Water Dives: To use your skills and explore the coral reefs of Phi Phi Islands
The course takes 3 days and the program is quite intensive but also a lot of fun. After the first day in the pool the following days are conducted at Phi Phi Islands dive sites and your non-diving friends and family members can join the days as a snorkelers.
